April 12th, 2013 [Kaleme – Zahra Sadr] – Following 20 days of complete isolation, opposition leader Mir Hossein Mousavi and his wife Zahra Rahnavard were finally granted visitation with Rahnavard’s mother this past Tuesday, April 9th, 2013.
In an interview with Kaleme, Narges Mousavi, Rahnavard and Mousavi’s youngest daughter confirmed this latest news stating: “It seems as though our parents were not only left alone, in solitary confinement and in complete isolation from the outside world, but their prison guards were also busy entertaining and enjoying themselves and living their lives.”
“Given the upcoming elections, it looks as though they are fearful of any statement that could possibly leak [from those under house arrest] that might effect or influence the elections. I believe that they are probably fearful of any type of communication between the public and our father,” added Narges Mousavi.
Mehdi Karroubi, Mir Hossein Mousavi and Zahra Rahnavard have been under an illegal house arrest since February 2011; this despite the fact that their is no legal precedence or stipulation for “house arrest” under Iran’s penal code. Furthermore, the house arrest of the opposition leaders for the past two years, has taken place in the absence of any legal due process and in violation of the laws and regulations of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Mir Hossein Mousavi’s daughters, last granted a short visit with their parents on March 21st of this year on the occasion of Persian New Year, have had no communication with their parents since that date and are concerned for their health, well being and safety.
The full content of Narges Mousavi’s interview with Kaleme is as follows:
When did you last receive news of your parents?
Our parents visited our grandmother this past Tuesday. It had been quite some time since they had allowed my father to leave the house. I believe my mother had also been kept detained at home for over a month. In any event, they were allowed to see my grandmother this past Tuesday.
Were you or anyone else allowed to be present during this latest visit?
No. Even my aunts and other family members, were not allowed to attend. No one other than my grandmother was allowed to be present. My grandmother is almost ninety years old. She has lost one of her children and is no longer allowed to see my mother. My father has always been her favorite son-in-law and my grandfather only recently passed away. The truth is, given her age, my grandmother is in no condition to endure this type of extra pressure. We are very concerned for our grandmother. During the past two years, our two grandfathers passed away longing to see our parents and we believe that the blame partially lies on our parents’ prison guards and those who have ordered their detention.
Did they announce the visit in advance?
No, it was unannounced. We had received no news of our parents since Persian New Year when we were allowed to visit with them for an hour. It seems as though our parents were not only left alone in solitary confinement and in complete isolation from the outside world, but their prison guards were also busy entertaining and enjoying themselves and living their lives.”
Do you mean to say that in the past 20 days your parents were also barred from all visitation and communicate with your family members?
Our parents were banned from all visitation and telephone contact for twenty days. They were in complete isolation and we were left concerned, wondering what had happened to them with no assurance regarding their safety. A million and one thoughts crossed our minds. Until the day they were allowed to visit our grandmother we kept wondering whether there were any guarantees that nothing had happened to them during the 20 days they had been left alone and in isolation. Why was there not even one telephone contact? What had we done as children of political prisoners to be denied even a phone call, not to mention our right to visitation? Despite our assertion that this house arrest is illegal and in violation of Iran’s penal code, we are nevertheless entitled to a few hours of visitation a week as stipulated under the law.
Do you believe there was a specific reason behind this latest isolation?
In general, I would venture to say that the group of prison guards responsible for our parents’ house arrest and all those hierarchically above them, including perhaps certain individuals within the establishment are surprisingly spiteful and ill-natured and disinterested in our welfare. In other words they only wish our family ill and malice. This has always been the case and even more so now with the upcoming elections. In reality they are fearful of any statement that could possibly leak [from those under house arrest] that might effect or influence the elections. I believe that they are probably fearful of any type of communication between the public and our father. Why else would they create such additional security restrictions?
The reports published however stated that prior to your last visit you had also been deprived of visitation with your parents for several months. Is that true?
Yes in the past two years we were twice deprived of all communication for three months, once for two and a half months, and twice for four months. In all previous cases, they had at minimum allowed our parents to sporadically contact either our grandmother or others by phone. This time, they had banned even such phone contacts and that was why we were so concerned. One must ask them why they behave in such a manner.
Have you made any judicial inquiries or filed a complaint during this time?
Given that no government entity or individual has taken responsibility for this house arrest and the responsibility has continuously been passed on to others with statements such as “we had nothing to do with it, it was such and such entity who was responsible..”, we have logically had no means to make any judicial inquiries – not to mention, how must we demand justice from the oppressor and the unjust? How does one file a complaint against those who themselves have committed the injustice? To date, we have not filed any such a complaint. We have taken our complaint first and foremost to God and to the people of Iran and the international organizations.
What message do you have for those who will be reading this interview?
I would like for everyone to know that we have been banned from all communication with our parents and they have been deprived of all basic rights afforded to all political prisoners in Iran. We have no idea what is going on behind those doors while they remain in isolation. Every moment of these two years has been filled with anxiety, concern and pressure. There can be no other reason but fear and malice to explain the behavior of those who are responsible for our parents’ detention. Our entire family would like to underscore the illegal nature of this house arrest, for the word “house arrest” does not appear anywhere in our laws – and yet our parents have endured this house arrest for over two years. We would like to reiterate that they should not only be released but those responsible must explain the rationale behind such an act. Furthermore, I would like to state that at the time we were interrogated, some of our personal property such as our electronic devices, CDs and books were confiscated. We were informed then that they would be returned to us by the end of the day. It has now been 3 months since we were robbed of our personal property and to date no one has returned anything to us.

کلمه- زهرا صدر: میرحسین و موسوی و زهرا رهنورد پس از ۲۰ روز بی خبری مطلق، روز سه شنبه با مادر زهرا رهنورد دیدار کردند.
نرگس موسوی، دختر کوچک نخست وزیر محبوس هشت سال دفاع مقدس در گفت و گو با کلمه با اعلام این خبر می گوید که به نظر می آید نه تنها پدر و مادر ما را در انفرادی رها کرده اند بلکه خود زندانبان ها هم به دنبال گردش و تفریح و زندگیشان رفته و آنها را در بایکوت ارتباطی و خبری قرار دادند.
به گزارش کلمه، دختر میرحسین و رهنورد با ابراز نگرانی از اینکه در این مدت پدر و مادرش با هیچ کدام از اعضای خانواده که پیش از گهگاهی امکان تماس تلفنی داشته اند، ارتباطی نداشته اند تصریح می کند که به نظر می رسد در حال حاضر قضیه انتخابات است و در حقیقت ترس از اینکه صحبتی بیاید بیرون و بخواهد جهت گیری شود برای انتخابات. لابد ترس و وحشتی دارند که مردم با پدر ما ارتباطی داشته باشند.
پیش از این کلمه خبر داده بود که پس از دیدار میرحسین موسوی و زهرا رهنورد با دخترانشان در روز سی ام اسفندماه، که پس از چند ماه محرومیت از ملاقات صورت گرفته بود، آنها از هر گونه تماس حتی تلفنی نیز محروم شده اند. این میزان بی خبری مطلق و بی سابقه از این دو همراه جنبش سبز، باعث نگرانی شدید خانواده شده است.
مهدی کروبی، میرحسین موسوی و زهرا رهنورد از بهمن ماه سال ۸۹ بدون هیچ گونه استناد قانونی در حصر خانگی به سر می برند. در قوانین تخلفات و جرائم کشور، تعبیر و مجازاتی به اسم حصر وجود ندارد. ضمن اینکه همین روند از آغاز بدون طی هرگونه فرایند قانونی شکل گرفته و در طول مدت بیش از دو سال اخیر نیز خارج از هر گونه ضوابط قانونی ادامه یافته است.

آخرین خبری که از پدر و مادرتان دارید چیست؟
پدر و مادرم روز سه شنبه با مادربزرگم ملاقات داشتند. خیلی وقت بود که پدرم را از خانه بیرون نبرده بودند. مادرم را هم فکر می کنم یک ماهی بود که از خانه خارج نکرده بودند. به هرحال روز سه شنبه توانستند مادربزرگم را ملاقات کنند.
فقط مادر بزرگ؟ شما و یا فرد دیگری از خانواده در این دیدار حضور نداشتند؟
بله حتی خاله هایم و بقیه فامیل را هم اجازه ندادند و فقط مادربزرگم بودند. مادربزرگ من هم سنش بالاست نزدیک۹۰ سالش است و یک بچه اش را هم از دست داده و مامان را هم که نمی تواند ببیند. پدرم هم داماد محبوبش بوده و پدر بزرگم هم تازه فوت کرده است. واقعا مادر بزرگ من دیگر تحمل این فشارهای اضافه را در این سن و سال ندارند. ما واقعا برایشان نگرانیم. کمااینکه فوت کردن دو تا از پدر بزرگ هایم در این دو سال اتفاق افتاده و هر دو چشم به در از دنیا رفتند که ما تا حدی مقصر آن را هم زندان بانها و دستور دهنده اش می دانیم.
آیا از قبل خبر داده شده بود؟
نه بی خبر بود. ما از روز قبل از عید، که یک ساعت پدر و مادرمان را دیدیم دیگر هیچ خبری در این ۲۰ روز از آن ها نداشتیم. به نظر می آید که پدر و مادر من را نه تنها در انفرادی رها کرده اند بلکه خود آقایان زندانبان ها هم رفته اند به دنبال گردش و تفریح و خوش گذرانی و آنها را در بایکوت ارتباطی و خبری قرار دادند.
یعنی در این ۲۰ روز با هیچ کدام از اقوام شما هم ملاقات و یا تماس نداشتند؟
نه ملاقات و نه تماس تلفنی نداشتند و همین موضوع خیلی برای ما شک بر انگیز بود. یعنی ۲۰ روز انفرادی برای اینها و نگرانی های ما از اینکه در چه وضعیتی هستند و امنیت جانی شان آیا تامین است یا خیر؟ فکر ما هزار راه رفت. تا روزی که مادربزرگم را ملاقات کردند مرتب فکر می کردیم که چه ضمانتی وجود دارد که در این ۲۰روز که تنها در آن خانه محصور هستند بلایی سرشان نیاورده اند؟ چرا نباید حتی یک تماس تلفنی باشد؟ یا مثلا ما چه کار کردیم که به عنوان فرزندان زندانیان سیاسی اجازه حتی تماس تلفنی نداریم؟ ملاقات که هیچ. هفته ای چند ساعت باید ملاقات داشته باشیم هرچند که در اصل همچنان ما معتقدیم حصر غیر قانونی است و در قانون هم نیامده چنین چیزی وجود ندارد.
فکر می کنید که این بی خبری دلیل خاصی دارد؟
کلا تیم زندانبان ها تا بالاترین رده های سلسه مراتب شان، که ممکن است خود حکومت را هم شامل شود، بدذاتی عجیبی دارند و خیر ما را هم نمی خواهند. یعنی هر آن چه که می خواهند بدی و بدخواهی برای ما و خانواده مان است این که همیشه بوده و الان قضیه انتخابات است و در حقیقت ترس از اینکه صحبتی بیاید بیرون و بخواهد جهت گیری شود در شرکت در انتخابات. من فکر می کنم لابد ترس و وحشتی دارند که مردم با پدر ما ارتباطی داشته باشند. وگرنه چرا محدودیت های امنیتی بیشتری ایجاد کردند چون قبلا به این شدت نبود.
اما پیش از این در گفت و گوها و یا اخبار داشتیم که چند ماه شما ملاقات و تماس نداشتید.
بله در این دو سال ما دو تا سه ماه یک دوماه و نیم دو تا چهار ماه ارتباط نداشتیم ولی به هر حال همیشه می گذاشتند که چند وقت یک بار با مادر بزرگم و یا بقیه تلفنی صحبت کنند الان مانع آن هم شده بودند و همین ما را نگران کرده بود. باید از خودشان پرسید که دردشان چیست.
آیا شما پیگیری های قضایی هم در این مدت داشتید؟
از آنجایی که هیچ ارگانی پاسخگوی این حصر نبوده و هیچ کس در حقیقت به عهده نگرفته مسئولیت حصر را و همیشه پاس دادند به یکدیگر که مثلا ما نبودیم و فلان ارگان بوده منطقا امکان پیگیری قضایی نداریم. ضمن اینکه ظلم و دادخواهی را از ظالم داشته باشیم؟ اینکه نمی شود که خودشان ظلم کردند حالا برویم ازشان دادخواهی کنیم؟ نه ما تا به حال این کار را نکردیم. صدایمان فقط در درجه اول به خدا و مردم و مراجع بین المللی رساندیم.
مردم گفت و گوی شما را می خوانند، سخنی با آن ها دارید؟
