Nasrin Sotoudeh’s 12 Year Old Daughter Denied Visitation with Her Mother

What would you do if after much preparation, you took your two young children to visit their mother behind bars (a mother who has been incarcerated without a reason for 18 months and has not been granted a moment of furlough from prison) only to find that your 12 year old daughter who attended dressed i…n her school uniform, a dress code that is without a doubt acceptable in Iran, is denied visitation along with her brother because the prison guard claims that her dress code is not in accordance with Islamic code? What would you do when your young daughter and her 4 year old brother both so young and sensitive are forced to spend thirty minutes in the extreme cold outside of Evin prison? What would you do…..?

اگر 2 تا بچه را پس از كلي وقت و انرژي ببريد دادسرا تا دقايقي با مادرشان (كه 18 ماه است بدون دليل محكمه پسند در بازداشت است بدون يك ساعت مرخصي) از نزديك ملاقات كنند، اما دختر بچه را كه 12 سال دارد و با لباس مدرسه كه بي ترديد حجاب قابل قبولي در ايران هست به همراه برادر 4 ساله‌اش از نگهباني به خاطر بد بودن حجاب، بيرون كنند و آنها بيشتر از نيم ساعت در سرماي طاقت‌فرساي كوهپايه‌ي اوين سرگردان بمانند، در مقابل ناراحتي و گريه‌ي اين بچه در اين سن و سال حساس و فشاري كه بر شما و كودكان‌تان وارد مي‌شود چكار مي‌كنيد

Opposition Leader Mir Hossein Mousavi : “Nothing Has Changed, I Remain Steadfast and True to my Positions”

February 22nd, 2012 – [Kaleme] In a recent telephone conversation with his daughters, Iran’s opposition leader Mir Hossein Mousavi, reiterated that he remains steadfast and true to his positions.

It has been one year since the illegal house arrest of Mir Hossein Mousavi and his spouse Zahra Rahnavard; a year that has been filled with pressure, concerns for their well being and long and arduous months in which there has been little to no communication with their family members and the outside world.  After months of silence and on the eve of the one year anniversary of their illegal house arrest the two steadfast companions of the Green movement were finally allowed a brief telephone conversation with their daughters.

According to reports received by Kaleme, at the onset of the telephone conversation and before engaging in small talk, in a strong and decisive voice,  Mir Hossein Mousavi repeatedly emphasized: “Nothing has changed!  My daughters I want you to know that I remain steadfast and true to my previous positions. For some reason, our sporadic communication to date and the limited news you have received from us every few months may also be discontinued.” 

The reasons behind why this communication may be discontinued remain unclear.

Zahra Rahnavard, whose spirits were strong, despite contrary reports by media outlets associated with the ruling government, told her daughters: ” For reasons you will eventually understand, we have not been able to talk to each other for a long period of time.”

At the end of their telephone conversation, Mousavi and Rahnavard called upon their daughters to endure, persevere, trust in God and continue on the path towards justice.

It has been reported that after the aforementioned short telephone conversation, pressure on Mousavi and Rahnavard’s daughters once again increased dramatically. The reported illegal banning of Mousavi’s daughter from teaching at Alzahra University, the repeated threats of arrest and transfer to an undisclosed location and other such incendiary threats leading to distress not only for Mousavi’s daughters but for other members of his family, all reportedly started after this phone conversation.

When asked by his daughters if the rumors spread by media outlets associated with the ruling government that they had left Tehran and had been allowed to live freely in the North of Iran were true, Mousavi strongly denied such claims, reiterating that he and his wife continue under illegal house arrest.

Security agents have continued to harass, search and interrogate Mir Hossein Mousavi’s daughters and his son in law claiming that sufficient evidence has been gathered against them and arrest warrants have also been issued. Mousavi and Rahnavard have been told that the recent wave of pressure on his family, the interrogations and baseless charges are all a result of his insistence to stand firm on his previous positions, a claim that Mousavi informed his daughters about in his last telephone conversation, despite pressure by security agents that he remain silent.

Not withstanding the extreme pressure imposed upon them,  Mir Hossein Mousavi and Zahra Rahnavad’s daughters and the family members of other innocent political prisoners behind bars  have nevertheless proudly continued to stand firm with their incarcerated and innocent loved ones.

چکیده :مهندس موسوی با صدایی محکم و قاطع چندین بار تاکید کرده است که «هیچ چیز عوض نشده است و خطاب فرزندان خود گفته است: دخترانم شما بدانید که من بر سر مواضع پیشین خود همچنان ایستاده ام. در ادامه ایشان گفته اند «ممکن است به دلایلی همین تنها امکان حداقلی چند ماه یکبار برای کسب خبر از وضعیت ما با شما را هم قطع کنند.» هنوز از دلایل احتمالی این تاکید اطلاع دقیقی در دست نیست. …

 

میرحسین موسوی درگفت و گوی تلفنی اخیر خود بر مواضع پیشین خود تاکید کرده است.

 

در ادامه بازداشت غیر قانونی آقای میرحسین موسوی و خانم زهرا رهنورد که با قطع متناوب ارتباطات با خانواده در دوره هایی طولانی و نگرانی و انواع فشارها در سال گذشته همراه بوده‌است، این دو همراه سبز پس از چندین ماه بی‌خبری مطلق در آستانه سالگرد حبس خانگی با فرزندان خود گفتگوی تلفنی داشتند.

 

بنا به گزارش رسیده به کلمه آنچه در این گفت و گوی تلفنی حائز اهمیت بود آنکه در همان ابتدای مکالمه و پیش از احوالپرسی مرسوم که به‌طور طبیعی پس از چندین ماه بی‌خبری باید انجام می‌شد، مهندس موسوی با صدایی محکم و قاطع چندین بار تاکید کرده است که: «هیچ چیز عوض نشده و خطاب به فرزندان خود گفته است: دخترانم شما بدانید که من بر سر مواضع پیشین خود همچنان ایستاده ام. در ادامه ایشان گفته اند «ممکن است به دلایلی همین تنها امکان حداقلی چند ماه یکبار برای کسب خبر از وضعیت ما با شما را هم قطع کنند.» هنوز از دلایل احتمالی این تاکید، اطلاع دقیقی در دست نیست.

 

خانم رهنورد نیز که برخلاف ادعاهای کذب رسانه های امنیتی روحیه ای قوی داشت به فرزندان خبر داده است که: «به دلایلی که خودتان خواهید فهمید، ما مدتها امکان صحبت با یکدیگر نداشته‌ایم.

 

درپایان مکالمه تلفنی، این پدر و مادر دربند، فرزندان خود را به بردباری و استقامت بیشتر و توکل به خدا در شدائد و شکر بر پیمودن راه حق فرا خواندند.

 

بنا براین گزارش پس از این گفتگوی تلفنی مجددا فشارها بر دختران مهندس به شدت افزایش یافت. به نظر می رسد ممانعت غیر قانونی و غیرکتبی ماموران امنیتی از تدریس دختر موسوی در دانشگاه الزهرا، تهدید به بازداشت و انتقال به زندان و یا مکان نامعلوم و سایرتهدیدها و ایجاد مانع ها و مشکلات دیگر برای دختران اقوام پس از این تماس و گفت و گو بوده است. همچینین ایشان در پاسخ به سوال دختران در مورد شایعاتی مبنی بر خروج آنان از شهر و به طور مثال حضور آزادانه در شمال کشور که با مقاصد نگران کننده ای از سوی مراکز امنیتی پخش شده است به شدت آن را تکذیب و بر تدام زندانی بودن خود تاکید کردند.

از جمله موارد دیگر آزار و اذیت ماموران امنیتی این بوده است که آنان با گفتن این که حکم بازداشت دارند و به اندازه کافی علیه آنان سند جمع کرده‌اند، داماد و دختران را مورد تفتیش و بازجویی قرار دادند. در این بازجویی ها ضمن تکرار اتهامات بی پایه قبلی به مهندس موسوی و همسرشان گفته شد که این فشارهای جدید شغلی ، امنیتی و خانوادگی همگی به خاطر اصرار و پایداری مهندس میرحسین موسوی بر مواضع پیشین است که او علی‌رغم میل ماموران در همین آخرین تلفن به دخترانش انتقال داده است.

اگرچه دختران و سایر اعضای خانواده این دو یار دربند جنبش سبز همچون اقوام سایر زندانیان سیاسی دیگر شدیدا تحت انواع فشارها بوده‌اند، همواره بر ایستادگی در کنار دو عزیز زندانی خود و باور و افتخار به این راه تاکید کرده‌اند

The Coordination Council Warns: Responsibility for the Lives of Political Prisoners Lies with the Highest Ranking Officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran

February 21st, 2012 – [Kaleme] In a statement published today, while condemning the gross violations of the basic human rights of Iranian citizens, Ardeshir Amir Armomand, the spokesperson for the Coordination Council of the Green Path of Hope warned that the responsibility for the health and lives of all incarcerated political activists and in particular Dr. Mehdi Khazali and other political prisoners behind bars currently deprived of medical care and in dire physical condition,  lays with the highest ranking officials within the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The complete content of the statement as provided to Kaleme is as follows:

We are currently experiencing a climate in which the Intelligence Ministry and Security forces rather than focusing on our national interests and the national security of our nation, have instead placed all their energy on the suppression of our freedom fighters and the most honorable children of our land, creating false legal cases against them.  Furthermore, the judges responsible for the cases against these honorable and Green democracy seeking activists behind bars are under direct orders of the officials of the Ministry of Intelligence and Security forces and void of all judicial independence. It goes without saying that the health and lives of all incarcerated political activists and in particular Dr. Mehdi Khazali and other political prisoners behind bars currently deprived of medical care and in dire physical condition,  lays with the highest ranking officials within the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The ruling establishment is sadly mistaken if they think that by sealing the door to the residence and library of the late Ayatollah Montazeri and imposing illegal restrictions on his son, they will be able to silence the message of freedom and justice of this honorable source of emulation.  This type of behavior is undoubtedly a sign of the weakness rather than the strength of the ruling establishment.

When the ruling establishment denies the citizens of Iran the right to protest albeit peacefully and silently,  a right established both in internationally accepted declarations and in article 27 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran, engaging in the illegal arrest of citizens participating in such protests, the claim that [the upcoming parliamentary] elections will be free and fair is nothing but a gross  lie.

While condemning the gross violations of the basic human rights of Iranian citizens, the Coordination Council for the Green Path of Hope warns the authoritarian ruling establishment that denying the truth, insisting on lies, repeated oppression, violence and lawlessness will only lead to further escalation of the crisis both domestically and internationally.

شورای هماهنگی راه سبز امید در بیانیه ای ضمن محکوم کردن نقض فاحش حقوق اولیه شهروندان ایرانی، هشدار داده است که مسئولیت جان و سلامتی کلیه فعالان سیاسی در بند، بویژه آقای مهدی خزعلی و سایر اسیرانی که محروم از مراقبت های پزشکی لازم در وضعیت جسمانی خطرناک قرار دارند، بر عهده عالیترین مقامات حکومتی می باشد.

اردشیر امیر ارجمند، سخنگوی شورای هماهنگی سبز امید در این بیانیه تاکید کرده است خیالی بس باطل است که با پلمب کردن کتابخانه و درب خانه مرحوم حضرت آیت الله العظمی منتظری و ایجاد محدودیتهای غیر قانونی برای فرزند ایشان، بتوان پیام حق طلبانه آن مرجع حکیم را در یاد و خاطره شیفتگان عدالت و آزادی به فراموشی سپرد. قطعا این گونه اعمال نشان از ضعف حاکمان است و نه قدرت آنها.

در حالی که نیروهای اطلاعاتی و امنیتی، بجای حفاظت و حراست از منافع و امنیت ملی کشور، تمام هم و انرژی خود را صرف سرکوب آزادیخواهان و صادق ترین فرزندان ایران زمین و پرونده سازی های وقیحانه علیه آنها می نمایند و قضاتی که مسئول رسیدگی به پرونده اسیران سرفراز جنبش سبز و دموکراسی خواهی مردم ایران هستند تحت دستور مستقیم مقامات اطلاعاتی و امنیتی عمل کرده و فاقد هر گونه استقلال قضایی می باشند، بدیهی است که مسئولیت جان و سلامتی کلیه فعالان سیاسی در بند، بویژه آقای مهدی خزعلی و سایر اسیرانی که محروم از مراقبت های پزشکی لازم در وضعیت جسمانی خطرناک قرار دارند، بر عهده عالیترین مقامات حکومتی می باشد.

در شرایطی که اقتدار گرایان حاکم بر کشور اعمال حق بر تظاهرات، مذکور در اسناد جهانی حقوق بشر و همچنین اصل ۲۷ قانون اساسی جموری اسلامی را، در ساده ترین و مسالمت امیز شکل ان که تجمعات سکوت است، بر نمی تابند و اقدام به دستگیری و رفتاهای غیر قانونی با متهمان به شرکت در ان میکنند، ادعای برگزاری انتخاباتی ازاد و منصفانه دروغی بزرگ است.

شورای هماهنگی راه سبز امید، ضمن محکوم کردن نقض فاحش حقوق اولیه شهروندان ایرانی، به حکمرانان متفرعن هشدار می دهد که انکار واقعیت ها و اصرار بر دروغ، سرکوب، خشونت و بی قانونی اثری جز تشدید شرایط بحرانی کشور در عرصه داخلی و بین المللی را بدنبال نخواهد داشت.
